Yes, it does -- and October is my favorite month. I know in upper New York the leaves are changing. We went back after two weeks in Maryland while we were living up there and the leaves were changing and it was August! I wondered aloud to a neighbor if there was a blight. She looked at me somewhat shocked, and said, "It's autumn!" I blurted out, "In August?"

We don't get autumn here until October at the earliest -- and it's only a few hundred miles.

That's no so strange, NY is further North and a higher elevation than Maryland so it gets cooler sooner and the leaves turn.

Anyway, I have to go now. Need to run some errands. I'll see y'all later. TTFN.

Betty wanders in and sees that Paul has been and gone and so has Marianne. She pours herself a cup of coffee before the day warms up here in California and wishes she could split the difference in our triple digits and their mild fall weather so we'd all be comfortable.

Betty hits the jukebox and starts her day blaring
