Morning all! It was a nice relaxing 4th John. I didn't get to the ocean to watch the fireworks over the water but did have a family barbecue for those who weren't working and went to the local high school park to watch one of the many excellent firework shows in the area. Since I am now packing, getting ready to move (who knows where) by the 16th of August, I don't know when the next time I will have the opportunity to get all the family together for barbecue and celebration.

Betty goes behind the bar, pulls out the blender, throws in a scoop of ice, adds a goodly amount of the Bailey's Irish Cream and then adds SFGA's double-Irish coffee - she adds another shot of Jamison's and then blends into a really tasty triple Irish frappacino. She pours it out of the blender into a giant bar glass, washes the blender and puts it away, and then, with a smile of contentment on her face, thinks this should keep Betty's spirit happy and heart light today.

Hello John, Paul, Betty, Marianne, Filthy, Apachefran and all padsters. It is 81 here and I ran my morning errands already. I was trying to check in earlier, but the mice were on break (or should that be brake?). Anywho all is OK here, Der Frau was watching the bicycle race earlier. With Lance Armstrong out of it, I can't get into it as much. Betty, that sounds terific. Keep your spirits up like you keep mine up.

Evening all! Had the same amount of work in as yesterday, more people in and we got less done thanks to people skiving. Not us younger ones from the job agency, but the lads who've worked there for years

Been watching a new series by James May (he is known as a host of Top Gear) about 20th century technology. Started with a Model T and the second program was about the space race. Looks like its going to be another series for me to record

I've been watching two good series I'd like to record. On our satellite, Discovery Channel, they have a show they get from the Science Channel in Canada "How it's Made" that shows factories and the steps in the manufacturing process of a product. On the Travel Channel, the host (John Ratzenberger [the mailman from Cheers]) visits places in America and shows how products are made - the title is "Made In America". On the RFD (country and agriculture -oriented) channel, they have one show about classic tractors and farm implements. They also have one about Trains and Locomotives with footage shot by rail fans. They go around the world.

I watch "How Its Made" when I can and its normally on around the same time as Mythbusters so it keeps me happy

Theres a series on in the UK by Peter and Dan Snow called 20th Century Battlefields and it goes into certain battles. With it being on when I'm finishing training on a Monday it gets recorded so I'm yet to see this week's episode about the Middle East in 1973.
