Good morning, Everybody! Looks like we'll all finally get to meet----at Ed's, for dinner. Sounds yummy!

A new Mexican place opened around the corner from where I work. Real Mexican food! The best beef enchiladas! Mmmm. We've ordered for lunches at work and I've brought some home for dinner a couple time.

Laundirty and a little yard work are on my schedule for today.

The Florida room is finally framed and all the windows are now in. Hubby has ordered the floor....we're putting in bamboo hardwood floors, and the deck material should be in this week. All the windows for the house are stored in our garage waiting to be put in. I'm hoping to have a "new" house by the end of October. Life has been very exciting these past few weeks!!

That's wonderful and it'll be especially good to have it done before the really cold weather hits.

Ellen's right. That's just being a Mom. We do things like that.

And I need to price up some new specs either today or tomorrow. At least I get student discount so that should knock about £20-£30 off

I love good Mexican food and it is hard to find, at least around here. I took my grandie to her neighbor friend's birthday party yesterday. They are Mexicans with a huge family and most brought food with them. They had the best thin cut steak that was marionated in something and grilled. Outstanding refried beans etc, but the best was a cactus salad. They've already invited me back to the next birthday in November and I'm going!

Ellen, Connie, Paul, Marianne, Anth, and Beast - Wow everyone is checking in here this morning! It's good to see you all - and to have some orderly room coffee to get me ready for church and then the closing day of the L.A. County Fair. You all have a GREAT day - I know I will.

Since I'm not driving, I may even lift a stein (or two) a little beer and/or wine this afternoon while listening to the bands and strolling the aisles and checking out what's left of the livestock! The Fair has changed so much since I was a kid.

In L.A. County growing up we had cows and citrus trees - lots and lots of citrus trees. Now, there is virtually no agriculture or dairy industry left in L.A. County - so the cows, the goats, the horses, etc. are imported in from nearby San Bernardino and Riverside counties. There was a local ad this year where you have these blondes all talking about the fair animals and the final shot is of them looking at a cow and they are saying "baa" and "whiney" and a geekish looking Fair employee comes over and says, "Try 'mooooo'" - I loved that commercial most because it does so describe us locals and our understanding of agriculture in this area any more.
