| Jr. Officer   |  Bush sticks to guns, but reaches out to Democrats WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) -- A bruised but unbowed President Bush stuck to his guns on the Iraq war in his State of the Union address on Tuesday while moving closer to the Democrats on issues that touch the pocketbooks of ordinary Americans Although he challenged the Congress to unquestioningly support his decision to send more American troops to Iraq, Bush also spoke of compromise and putting partisan differences aside to work for the American people to solve other problems.
