Default Democrats

Truly the democratic leaders disgust me. Some people think the polarized politics is a artificial development that is far from the truth.

Last night I seen Pelosi, Murtha and some other lady I forget her name. But anyway every time I see these people the crap they spew from their mouths is alien to me. I also seen Dean and Clinton, Clinton has enough sense to see how bad Dean is to the American people so she took some shots at him about financing. Anyway the point is they never have a plan only rhetoric and smear. Pelosi was talking about the economy and how bad it was and how they were going to fix it however:

*Stock market is breaking records
*Unemployment is under 5% almost perfect
*Taxes are lower
*Gas prices are down
*GNI has rose to the highest in history and is going up
*Inflation is steady

What will they do with the economy? Raise taxes again and put the economy in a spin?

Polise is a hack and her and Dean together running things tells many people about the democratic party. They have no plans nothing just like 2004, well besides Cut and Run. That is their answer to the war and it is not a plan at all.

In fact they have never had a plan they just do what they always have done yell rhetoric and little else.

Dean is the worse of them all, I have no idea why they keep a person around who can only run his mouth in a negative way. I seen a poll that said only 24 or so % approved of him. That is pretty damn low, perhaps he has dirty laundry on all of them or something. He never has cared how much his words hurt the country as a whole, he and Murtha are poster boys for terrorist propaganda.

The likes of Pelosi, Dean, Reid, etc., are definitely bad for the Democrats. They are all prone to hyperbole and alarmism, not to mention the same amounts of spin we used to get from Republicans when they didn't control the Congress.

You are telling me that raising our taxes 2 percentage points will put our economy into a tailspin? How? If you make $5000 a month, that means your additional tax burden will be $100. Big deal. Across all of America, it is enough to pay the budget up front, and begin to pay back the debt that is owned by China, India, Russia and lots of other countries- the debt we had to get into to fight the GWOT.

Which is 1200 dollars a year which may or may not be big deal to a family. But that will not go to reduce the debt it will go to pet projects like it always does. That is assuming 2 percent is all they raise it I am sure they would like to raise far more then that and hit our industry too which is already jumping ship.

I do not remember the same zeal when the republicans did not control the house but that 12+ years ago. I do remember Clinton not getting near as much flak for his USSC nominations etc. when the republicans did control the house. The minority makes more noise then the majority these days.

Default Re: Democrats

On paper the economy does look very good. Money seems to be no object except to those that deoesn't have any. The question I pose is simple. What drives this economy? The huge mausoleums being sold as homes? The desire to have all the latest doodads with all the bells and whistles? Artificially maintained low interest? Certainly not so much our ability to manufacture products to be sold, so the trade deficits get larger and larger.

I suggest it is government spending on a level we've never seen before, even surpassing LBJ's Great Society. Where, if the taxes are artificially maintained at a low level, does the money come from to finance wars on two fronts, troops being maintained throughout the world on a permanent basis, bridges to nowhere, pork spending that would make any hog proud, a welfare system run amok, No Child Left Behind, a new Drug Prescription Plan, and the list goes on and on.

What level of debt are we willing to leave our children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren? How many more war fronts are we willing to finance with money that will not materialize for another fifty years or so, if then?

We are headed for a fall, folks, and nobody seems to give a tinkers damn either way.

I suggest it is morrally wrong and evil to leave a debt that is more than we can pay for in our lifetime.

Default Re: Democrats

Since the economy and taxes seems to be a common theme here, consider this:

Republican: Promise to lower taxes, will try by any means to do so, and yet will continue to spend, leveraging that spending by selling debt to foreign countries. Oh, remember the balanced budget the Republican Congress forced onto Bill Clinton in 1996 (IIRC)? I do, it was the late 90s and we were booming, why, balanced budget, no public debt!

Democrat: Tells you right up front he/she will maintain, if not raise taxes. Also tells you right up front what their spending priorities are (only the leftist moonbats deprioritize defense spending), and promises to balance the budget.

There was a time I was far more conservative in my voting. why? The Republicans worked to balance the budgets, but now they seem to be a rubber stamp to the administration and its PNAC inspired policies, while the Demos are fighting to balance the budget and pay the debt of so we can own our future- not China or India.

Cal, as for the $1200 a year....(1) If a family is so poor that that $1200 will prevent them form eating, having heat, or some other necessity, they will lbe in a low enough tax bracket that their 2% will be far less than $1200. (2) For the oppressed individual who has to cough an extra $1200, they have 2 choices. Sell the ridiculous gaz guzzling truck or SUV they drive and buy a hybrid- they get a tax break for the LE car and spend far less on gas, or budget their money differently.

I live comfortably on a Captain's pay, support a wife who stays home with my child, and we want for nothing. Oh, we own one car, but we own 4 bicycles between us, and haven't got a penny of unsecured debt. My message to congress, raise our taxes 5% if you have to. JUST PAY OFF THE NATIONAL DEBT! My advice to anyone who feels they will be oppressed by a tax hike, learn to budget your money better, and evaluate what you really need in your life- I bet you can reduce your monthly expenditure by more than 5% easily- oh and pay off your debt if you have any.

Sorry, not meant to be a lecture to you, or anyone else, Cal. I just don;t buy the usual song and dance and objections to taxation. It is an emotional issue, and unfortunately a necessity to fund our government and make sure America is owned by Americans, not foreign interests.
