All well and good musing on what Bush might say if he had the nous to think of it in the first place, but not quite the sense to keep it to himself (Reagan's "I have passed legislation to outlaw the Soviet Union" line comes to mind), but surely people like Ann Coulter and Rush Limbaugh exist to say these things for Bush?

Of course, if it were true about those lists that George is checking twice, then so much for that impressive 'Coalition of the Willing'

As bad as the link is, it illustrates a dismal truth which is going to characterise the coming election campaign: that these 'emails' can't be taken at face value, but rather as part of a strategy to paint a certain candidate (and it tends to be the Prez) in a light that he couldn't directly be associated with. Like blaming Saddam Hussein for 911. Deniability. Of course, I received my first ban there (I would use the official phrase, 'some access rights denied', if the mods would ever answer my queries about the time scale) for questioning just such an email, so maybe I'm out of step...

Each to their own, is my philosophy. Would post there myself, still, if the big chief and his ladyboy weren't apparently dead set agin' me. I'm not American, and I am liberal (only just admitted it myself, and still coming to terms), so no, I don't think it's a good idea. Poorly expressed too. The first line is unequivocable, but is then immediately quivoced by the second line about Congress (so is the mission complete, or not?)

True, but people like Michael Moore tend not to ghostwrite letters. They have their views and they want everyone to know it. It's only the Republicans who seem to think that their chief is so inarticulate he needs to have words put in his mouth. A little respect, guys...
