| Non-Commissioned Officer ![]() | On the far-radical right, let's use the examples of...http://freeamerican.com/ and http://witewillo.homestead.com/links.html And for the far-radical left, let's use...http://www.zmag.org/ZNET.htm and http://www.counterpunch.org/ Which side represents a bigger threat to truth and democracy in America? Are there any areas where both sides meet? Asides from being crazy... Are there any ares where either side sheds some light of truth on any issues? |

| Head Zookeeper ![]() | Here is another far-right website........... www.freerepublic.com As far as to where they are similar? I would say neither has a shred of objectivity or tolerance for an opposing viewpoint. Everything is partisan politics to them. A good example is Rush Limbaugh. How can anyone take this windbag seriously? I mean, does he really believe that the Republican party is beyond reproach, utterly incapable of making the slightest mistake? And then, on the other hand, his daily lashings of everything Democrat only shows that he is wearing blinders to the dogma he preaches, and spews forth enough hot air to give any balloon lift-off, no matter how big... BTW... Westbrook, is your flag in your signature what is causing me to have scroll sideways when I'm reading your posts?

| Banned ![]() | I'd have to say radical left, of course... Whichever's closer to Socialism is more of a threat to Democracy... Nationalism is more good than bad, in my opinion... (Speaking of Nationalism, I just saw the new movie, "Miracle"... Great flick. Brought back memories and made me feel OLD...) o'd - I've heard Rush criticize Bush in recent weeks. Lately, he's been taking the stance of "Who do they have who's better?"... I'm having the same scrolling "issues", Dan... Friggin' flag-waving Nationalists... ![]() Last edited by Bunker; 02-06-2004 at 18:23. |

| Head Zookeeper ![]() | So you thought the movie "Miracle" was good, huh? I have not seen it myself, and Hollywood usually overdoes it with the patriotism , but maybe on this event in history it is justified. You know, I STILL remember the American coach of that team stating publicly that "they should give the Gold to the Russians and let the rest of us play for the Silver.." I think that coach that Kurt Russell portrays was recently killed in a car accident, wasn't he?

| Non-Commissioned Officer ![]() | The radical left and the radical right both seem to have a deep distrust of the American government and a strange fascination with conspiracy theories. I think the right is more dangerous though, because they have all the guns and the Timmothy McVeighs. The left is a bunch of pacifist faires most of the time, like Noam Chomsky and Michael Moore. |

| Banned ![]() | Dan - Herb Brooks. Russell does an excellent job, and they really aren't that over the top with the patriotism (take that opinion from where it comes, though. )... My wife and I went on vacation this summer to Lake Placid, for the first time. While I sat across the street from the hockey arena, the sign outside the place said "Lake Placid Remembers Herb Brooks"... I was like "Is it his birthday?"... I grabbed a newpaper, and the report of his death (car accident) was on the front page. It was kinda strange. Never been to Lake Placid before, we're sitting across from the actual arena where it happened, and hearing about him dying the same day we got there. We had just seen a documentary on the team a couple months before. He was a cool dude... A great leader. You should check it out... I remember watching those Olympic Games... It was all about the hockey team. Sorry about the topic deviation, Westbrook. Your sorry a** should go see it, too. I bet you'll get goosebumps and cry, and sh*t. I mean, not literally "sh*t". You know what I mean, being all "tender" like you are. ![]() |

| Banned ![]() | Oh, you mean THAT radical right... I would hardly associate the wack-jobs with the term "conservative", though... Those hate groups have nothing to do with the core of conservativism. I look at it like "Extreme Liberals hate America." ... "Extreme Conservatives Love America unconditionally."... |
