Default What was the balloting process where you live?

Did anyone use the electronic touch screen voting? Did anyone still punch out the holes in the ballot?

The way my voting precinct was set up seemed to be a fairly error proof method, as there is no chance for an electronic malfunction or a "hanging chad", it was simply taking a black marker and filling in the box beside your candidate, and then walking out of the booth and slipping the ballot into a slot that accepted it like an ATM would accept a deposit.

Straightforward and simple.

Same here. I think they call it a scantron.

P.S., O'Danny, Good luck, and may the most popular man win!

What are we gonna have to argue about after this is over?

Plenty! lol

I live in red-neck-ville-no-where-Minnesota... Needless to say the ballots were paper and they gave you a pen. I sat at a table and filled mine out~ Could care less who knows who I voted for.

Hey, you two will find something!

Here in Oregon, we have the statewide mail in ballot system so I've had my ballot for a while. I just marked it last night (scantron) and dropped it off less than an hour ago at the local Library.

It was easy!

In Montana it's all paper ballot and pencil that was used to blackoning the circles. You stand on the this private table that is covered both ways and fill it out like a test or survey and slip it in. EASY than you get a I VOTE sticker and carry.

I VOTED FOR BUSH/CHENEY 2004.

Here where I live, it was little punch holes. Fairly stupid-proof, but never underestimate the power of human dumbness. I still think that electronic voting machines are a bad idea. Too many chances for failure, false reads, etc. Hell, I work on one every day, and still don't trust the d**n things

I read where computer scientists, almost as an entire group, do not support touch screen balloting in Florida. They say few, if any, needed safeguards exist.

I do not trust electronic touch screens at all. Paper balloting is preferable, a computer glitch cannot erase the results or allow tampering.
