The main question is, was he there? I don't think so. If you weren't there you can't question him or his book either.

I'm not so sure about that SFGA.

1. Eye witness accounts are rarely reliable accounts for validity.
2. If one adopted that attitude, most serious WWII research could be debunked as myth.

I mean, one can't always think in the fashion that "you weren't there. So you can't question either that or the book". Unless the book (any book) stands up to questioning and cross-validation - it isn't too far from "biased propaganda".

I agree with you John. What got me was how many times he called the man a liar. It was as if he was ranting and raving over something he disagreed with. A good journalist would not get that far out of control.
