Default US Washington Post backs Kerry

Quote:

US presidential candidate John Kerry has received the official backing of the influential Washington Post.

The paper said the choice was difficult, but that Mr Kerry had the "better approach" on many policies.

Although I am not surprised and the Washington Post has ALWAYS backed Kerry I think it is unethical for a newspaper or any news media to back a candidate.

Many love to harp on Fox News but they will never mention this. I wonder what would happen if Fox officialy backed Bush? I am sure the democrats would send out their lawyers and start pushing for intervention against the Fox News. But just like Moore and his 9/11 is ok but Stolen Honor is not, the left continues to show its true colors.

But this is many news papers doing this. How can they expected to be taken serious after that? New York Times did the same thing. All they are saying is "look we are as biased as you have been told."

Do you think anyone is going to be swayed to vote for Kerry based on what the editor of the Washington Post thinks?

I hope not, Federalist, but anything is possible. I agree with the others that media should report, not opine. I'm sure you do too! But we can't make them be fair - it's that feeling of power they have, that they can actually cause something to happen. Unfortunately, it's true with many people.

The Washington Post is and has been a liberal rag. It has good comics and good science articles. Otherwise, it's good for nothing if the parrot dies.
