| Head Mouse Trainer ![]() | I was actually listening to the program when it aired, thats how suprised I was. I disagree with Rush Limbaugh on a few things but on this it was totally false. He was clearly taking about Jesse Mc Beth who should be shot btw. The sad thing is that it is so obvious what they are trying to do with this, take the heat away from the moveon.org attack ad. Sad, -Jason |

| NCO ![]() | Senator Kerry calls our soldiers "terrorists". That's free speech. Senator Reid tells our soldiers they've "lost in Iraq". That's free speech. Rep Murtha accuses Marines of "murder" before the investigation is complete. That's free speech. Limbaugh calls those who have no military career who's embraced by those listed above. That's NOT free speech. Can you say "double standard", boys and girls?

| Junior Officer ![]() | You are quoting his rebuttal, and not the show that he took the calls. Sen. Salazar condemns Rush Limbaugh's "phony soldiers" remark WASHINGTON — Sen. Ken Salazar dived deeper into the Rush Limbaugh brouhaha Wednesday, saying he'd support censuring the conservative talk-show host for his use of the words "phony soldiers." During a conference call with reporters, Salazar, a Colorado Democrat, said he'd support censure if a vote were taken. None is planned. Salazar said Limbaugh "owes an apology to the men and women in uniform who are doing the duty that the commander in chief has asked them to do." Limbaugh last week took a call from a listener who complained that Iraq war critics "never talk to real soldiers. They like to pull these soldiers that come up out of the blue and spout to the media." "The phony soldiers," Limbaugh responded. Later in the broadcast, according to a transcript, Limbaugh talked about Jesse Macbeth, who was convicted of lying about serving in Iraq. Limbaugh has said that "phony soldiers" meant Macbeth and others like him. Salazar this week signed a letter from Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid to Clear Channel Communications, which airs the program, seeking an apology from Limbaugh. The Denver Post - Sen. Salazar condemns Rush Limbaugh's "phony soldiers" remark

| NCO ![]() | While I may not always agree with Rush, he has as much right as anyone to voice his opinion. What I see here as in other similar events, if it his someone on or leaning to the right, the Left calls for his head. However, when someone, from the left does the same or worse, they call it free speech and all they are doing is fighting against and protesting the war. Just like Kerry did during te Vietnam War, labeling his fellow service members as war criminals.

| Head Mouse Trainer ![]() | Cato, They have the actual airing on Youtube already, he was talking about Jesse McBeth, listen/watch for yourself: Hot Air » Blog Archive » Media Matters leads dishonest smear on Rush Limbaugh’s “phony soldiers” line Video added Look, I am always about 50/50 with Rush, he is over the top at times and I sure as heck have problems with his defination of a conservative and a few others. But in this case, this specific case, they are wrong, he didnt say. All people like Salazar and others are doing is making him worth more and increase his audience and he loves it. Especially since this is so wrong, and can be proved wrong. The only reason this has gotten play at all is because most people havent heard the actual broadcast, but are instead relying on second hand sources. -Jason |
