| Banned ![]() | If you had a loved one - a spouse, a child, a friend, a parent - who was dieing from heart failure and otherwise unreversible massive heart muscle damage and that person potentially could be restored to fullness of heart health, would he or she be worth it to you? This one challenges us to again rethink the medical ethics question. Would your loved one deserve that chance? Quote:
You've gotta have heart All you really need is heart When the odds are sayin' you'll never win That's when the grin should start You've gotta have hope Mustn't sit around and mope Nothin's half as bad as it may appear Wait'll next year and hope When your luck is battin' zero Get your chin up off the floor Mister you can be a hero You can open any door, there's nothin' to it but to do it You've gotta have heart Miles 'n miles n' miles of heart Oh, it's fine to be a genius of course But keep that old horse Before the cart First you've gotta have heart - Damn Yankees. 1955 - | |

| Junior Officer ![]() | I have to wonder what role the autoimmune system plays in this. If someone family showed a heritable trait for heart disease in the family, I would have to wonder if at some point stem cells could be removed and stored for the eventual reintroduction at a later point. That could possible be the work around for the auto immune system attacking cells introduced that are from a different source. While this technology appears to be something for the future, who would have suspected that Mendel's work with Peas would carry the implications of our knowledge of genetics that we have in the present world?
