Post War Powers Act

From a blog that I subscribe to, and I agree with.

War Powers Act
If anyone here is signing that Petition to recend the War Powers Act, Please remove me from your list now. We dont need that kind of Support. To Recend the Act would bring the Troops home but this is a little of what to.

When a Veteran applies for V.A. Benefits they have to show they served during a authorized conflict to get a Priority level for their combat injuries. If they served at any other time and place they are put into a lower Priority level such as 8 or 9 which the V.A. isnt even accepting anymore. So there goes Medical care and Disability compensation for those wounded during the conflict since it will no longer have been authorized. Its hard enough to get ones V.A. Benefits now so this would leave thousands out in the cold. Ask anyone that served during the cold war in conflicts that dont show on the authorized list how easy it is to get any Benefits at all.

If they lost limbs, had Brain injuries, Etc. there goes their rehabilitation care and re education benefits. If they are the surviving family memebrs there goes their Benefits. So every husband, wife and child that lost anyone there will no longer recieve their compensation for losing their Troop in combat but rather the standard as if they died in training.

Since there is no longer a Declaration of war then any country involved such as Iran and Syria can file War crime charges against any troop, commander, Etc. that had involvement in the region since the Gulf war. Remember war was declared in 1990 when Saddam Invaded Kuwait, the Invasion of Iraq was just an amendment to that Declaration. So to Recend it would mean even the Desert Storm veterans could be held liable for crimes, because it would no longer be a authorized war.

I know all this bring the troops home stuff sounds good. But remember the politicians are better at deciet than you are, so these gimmics always come with a price. The Politicians dont really care about the troops, no matter what they say. If they did they wouldnt take 3 week vacations without approving the equipment funding and then declaring the surge a failure when it hasnt even come into full effect because its funding bill still hasnt been passed. Its all about what they can do for themselves and to make the other guy look bad. You are just helping them make our troops lives worthless and using them as pawns.

Yes, to recend the Decleration of war would bring all troops home. Some to Prisons, others to suicide, Many to a land that shows what they did was so worthless that they wanted it erased. To Bring them home to no care, no benefits and to no value to what they gave. Is that really how we should reward them for standing up for you?

"Take me to the Brig. I want to see the real Marines." LtGen. Lewis "Chesty" Puller

"Adversity is like a very strong wind. It strips away all that we have so that when it passes, all that is left is who we truly are"

The administration’s blind eye to the impending crisis is emblematic of a philosophy that trusted market forces and discounted the need for government intervention in the economy.
