| Monkey Mouse   |  Should the TV have shown the videos Cho Sung Hui made? What the media wrong for broadcasting the videos this murderer sent to them? I saw them and this man was obviously disturbed judging from his hate-filled ramblings. There's discussion now that showing this just encourages copy-cats and that there is no benefit in showing these videos. There's discussion now that showing this shows how truly evil this young man was and that is a benefit in itself. What do you think?

It can only help, in the long run, if it's done properly, I believe. If some of it was enough to scare small children, then it may be best to show it late in the evening.

The problem is, as always, that the news stations don't know how to stop showing, or how to stop promoting it. Once they show something they always go overboard with it. Our local station has cut back on the showing of it after getting emails, but for two days they had commercials advertising that they had decided to cut back on it and why. The TV news media has turned this whole tragedy into one big commercial for their stations.

| NCO  | Re: Should the TV have shown the videos Cho Sung Hui made? I wanted to see them, so I could try to understand what this guy was thinking...the video's made it evident something was certainly not right. Now I don't want to see them anymore. Life goes on...we need to move past this. |
