| Non-Commissioned Officer ![]() | After reviewing my tax returns, it has been determined that we owe the US Government over $1000 dollars. I feel that the tax tables are in error. Due to the number of illegal aliens in this country that are using our health systems, educations systems and other civil services paid for by the tax payers it is my opinion that each tax paying legal resident should be allowed to claim exemptions or a standard deduction for the services provided. Secondly, the pay of our elected officials in Washington should be reviewed. Any congress person that misses sessions of their appropriate house of congress should forfeit that pay and contribute it to help save Social Security. Third, all of the monies wasted in non-productive debates, arguements and frivilous activity in congress should be applied against the national debt and therefore reduce taxes. Elected officials that are away from their duties as representatives of their constituents campaigning for office (two years from the election) should forfeit that pay (they are not representing those that elected them) and apply it to increasing the budget of the border patrol and enforcement agencies that are trying to stop illegal immigrants from making entry. These budgets could improve the manpower and technology used to surveil the border and apprehend them. After you review all of these items, I'm sure that the fact that my wife owe money is surely in error. Your assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated. | Non-Commissioned Officer ![]() | There are two certainties in life death and taxes. Whilst you can stave off death for a while by healthy living, exercise and a bit of luck this doesn't work with the tax man. He will have his pound of flesh so the government can continue to squander money in ways that I'm sure the vast majority of tax payers regardless of which country they live in find distasteful. These include providing prisoners with a better standard of living than many pensioners or working families on low incomes. Supporting the feckless and work shy when genuine cases of hardship have to jump through hoops to recieve any assistance. Spending millions on advisors, administrators, co-ordinators and consultants rather than on doctors, nurses, teachers and police. Advertising campaigns for the armed forces and jumped up trials over the deaths of 'innocent bomb throwing civilians rather than ensuring the personnel they have are properly equipped and supported. If most of the public ran their finances in the same manner as governments both national or local then they would be in dire straits. If governments had to justify their tax take in the same manner as many employees have to do at annual performance reviews they would find it impossible to justify current levels of tax never mind any increase. Since the hysteria about global warming and general environmental issues the stealth taxes introduced in the name of the green economy have been staggering, most of which even the most outrageous fun fair shyster would find too much. |
