They currently don't see the threat from the Islamic extremists, with the exception of Chechnia so he has sided with Iran. This could get very ugly very soon.   | Re: Our "Friends" the Russians Russia is not our friend never really have been. There is too much deep seated mistrust there. For whatever reason. We make good allies in time of war but that is mostly because they are not part of "Europe" as far as Western Europe is concerned historically. We are allies of circumstance. At one time I thought we could be but nah Putin is a criminal and scumbag for a leader that will make Bush look like a priest.
