Firstly, if my parents made me a post-mortem parent (whether I expressed a verbal desire or not), I’d come back and haunt them. It would be an utterly selfish response to grief. It wouldn’t be fair to me to create a child who’s life I could have no part in. Secondly, what about the child? How fair is it to bring the child into the world knowingly fatherless?

| Non-Commissioned Officer ![]() | Agreed BTW. I wrote 20 different responses, and could not find anything that 'fit'. Reminds me of a Family Guy episode. "No. No. No. No"

| Monkey Mouse ![]() | This is not about her son, but all about her and very selfish on her part. I could understand if he'd been married and his widow wanted to bear his child, but not this.

I have 3 children of my own. I can't imagine not being in their lives....that's not to say that I couldn't have died in childbirth, but to agree to conceive children that you will never know would be a heavy burden...I'd think.

I know if it were me, I wouldn't want my eggs harvested to make a child I could never hold in my arms. Something that occurs to me is that people like this mother want to try and replace a dead (adult) child with a baby. Living as a replacement is not good for the baby.

| Junior Officer ![]() | The operative word here, folks is Israeli. Whatever they decide to do in Israel is certainly not my business, and while I find the situation a little bizarre, ehhhh! What, me worry? I'm certainly not going to get my drawers all twistified over it. ![]()
