| Junior Officer ![]() | A U.S. Border Patrol entry Identification Team site was overrun Wednesday night along Arizona's border with Mexico. According to the Border Patrol, an unknown number of gunmen attacked the site in the state's West Desert Region around 11 p.m. The site is manned by National Guardsmen. Those guardsmen were forced to retreat. The Border Patrol will not say whether shots were fired. However, no Guardsmen were injured in the incident. Guardsmen overrun at the Border TELL ME AGAIN WHERE THOSE TERRORISTS ARE! Our President wants to give these folks ( The Criminals from Mexico ) our Social Security dollars. Works for me-how about you?

| Non-Commissioned Officer ![]() | I read this also. However I was searching for a WHY they gave up their post. I did find that the Mexicans crossed enough of the boarder that they 'retreated back into Mexico'. Maybe it was a boarder 'test'? See how far they could get. See what they can get away with? Like cattle and the electric fence, always rubbing on it to look for breaks.

| Non-Commissioned Officer ![]() | aaahhhh... I wondered that also. Sorry, read so fast that fact passed me by. I just figured they'd have a stash somewhere. Even on my ship, I had a weapon in my rack, and one in my locker. Clip 1 foot away, unloaded, slide back. One a .22 target pistol, one a .25. Small stuff. A couple of random checks from the MA found them, however I was never asked to remove them. Anyway, I bet they are armed at the next post eh? HA!

Two reasons I believe. ( One ) Remember a few years ago when a young reservists shot and killed a Mexican youth. Don't remember all the details, but Big Daddy doesn't want to ruffle the Mexicans fur too much. After all he may need them to work on his ranch someday. ( Two ) Mr Bush wants the freeflow of aliens across the border to continue. This pleases the Mexican President, and also paves the way for the Shamnesty Plan he has promoted, as well as the SPP, NAU, etc. Why close the borders just to have to reopen them? We were told Mr Bush was a Conservative. Big lie. He has failed to attempt to close the borders against invasion, making him, in my opinion, a criminal as well as a liar. He fights in the Sands of Iraq to export democracy, but he refuses to fight in the Sands of The Southwest, only to support homegrown terrorism. BAH!

| Junior Officer ![]() | Snip Last year, 124-thousand pounds of illegal drugs were confiscated in this area. Armed and shooting suggests to me drug dealers testing for a response. The Nat. Guard is supposed to be on site unarmed, what better way to check than to come in shooting then scurry back. Credit goes to the decision to get out of harms way when unarmed. No telling how much in the way of illegal drugs managed to get through but finding weaknesses should help to increase drug flow. Along with drugs comes crime and infiltration. It's not looking good for Homeland defense when defenders have to scramble late at night to save their own lives.

Oh, and Homeland Security? You mean that new behemoth government bureacracy that could have accomplished the same thing with Mr Bush planting his foot up some well deserving arses rather than spending untold billions to create. I forgot, HS came up with that beautiful little color coded folderol to tell us when the threat of terrorism is the highest.
