Clinton "hating the military" is rightwing agit prop. There are many enduring lies by the right wing smear machine, one of them is there is a "liberal media", another is that "Clinton hated the military" Of course, reading right wing agit prop all day long one is bombarded by many constants, this being one. (I imagine that Clinton liked playing soccer with the severed head of Vince Foster, too) ![]()

![]() | I do think Clinton had no love for the Military. According to some that served there they were treated harshly. That was their opinion of it. Clinton was from the generation and took part in that generation that hated the establishment, the military and the government. Clinton himself wrote: "A lot of wonderful people love their country and hate the military," Bill Clinton, back in 1969

| Head Zookeeper ![]() | Okay folks, since we are on this topic, let me compare: 1) Clinton "hates the military" and somehow was less than supportive of it. Ummmm.............okay. Point made. And this somehow differs from Pres. Bush, who supports the military yet has sent it, underequipped, without a plan, and ignoring the ghosts of Indochina, into Iraq where over 2,600 are dead and 20,000 wounded, some grievously, many missing arms and legs. Yet somehow Clinton was "bad" and Bush is "good" That is what I call a disconnect.

![]() | Nah I think most agree that there are problems with the countries infrastructure and diverged from the topic. Personally I don't see how we can blame that on any one president. There are so many factors involved that it is hard to point the finger. I am more with Shoorterman and the selling out of our nation. Next we will have working Americans being outsourced to African firms to build our roads for us and the politicians will claim that no American wants to do that work. Not Republican, Not Democrat but almost all of them. Fact is Americans will do the work if they are paid a decent comparable wage to the rest of the country. Hell I will pay another 10 cents a pound on grapes if it puts Americans to work and sends criminals back to their own country. Farmers and small factories claim they can not compete by paying decent wages. I say go out of business then and someone will replace them that can.

It simply shows me a couple things about Clinton - who is not the subject of this thread - but even so, I believe it demonstrates a small man who would insult the very men who were charged with keeping him alive, and it is a man who lacks personal courage on at least a subconscious level. I could be wrong - may be wrong. But to me to hate the people who protect you indicates to me a lack of intelligence, and to tell those people to their face that he dislikes them - the president, for Pete's sake - is beyond comprehension common and unfeeling. I didn't intend to go there - but not liking Bush is one thing; don't think my opinion of him has anything in the world to do with the absolute disgust I have for Clinton. Both Clintons. Sorry - my rant is done. But, Dan - don't put words in my mouth, okay? I can speak for myself. Oh - one last word. I do think Bush is at least morally better than Clinton. And, again, I could be wrong. If so, he's sneakier. ![]()

Oh, and I can't recall a time when Clinton actually saluted the Marine guards like the majority of other presidents, both Rep & Dem. Zero respect. OK. Agreed that FEMA didn't do well in N.O., but the State had all the tools to help themselves and did squat with them. The corruption was at state and city levels. Florida got hit several times, but you never heard anything about it. Come to think of it, Mississippi was hit far worse than N.O., but because of the race card all we heard about was Bourbon Street and how were they ever going to be ready for Mardi Gras. Boo hoo. They could very well have asked that of their mayor and governor.
