Default Media lines up to celebrate

The death of 2000 US troops.

They just could not wait to slap that all around the nation on the front pages and news spots. Not one good word for the troops though.

Even slide it in every chance they get in any other news about Iraq. Not one good word ever from any of them.

Top story all around.

Of course that sick whining freak Sheehan could not wait for the blood of the 2000th troop to spill so her and her anti-American buddies and sponsors such as Moore could start protest.

I suspect their protest will fall on deft ears. Americans have not forgotten the betrayal that people like Sheehan committed in another war against our military and troops little over 3 decades ago.

DNC snake Dean had a few comments to make too, something about patriotism and love of nation... Something very alien to him so he was basically lying, but then the man opens his mouth and he is lying.

Some complaints did appear:

Quote:
U.S. Army Lt. Col. Steve Boylan, director of the force’s combined press center, said via e-mail, “The 2,000th Soldier, Sailor, Airman, or Marine that is killed in action is just as important as the first that died and will be just as important as the last to die in this war against terrorism and to ensure freedom for a people who have not known freedom in over two generations.”

He complained that the true milestones of the war were “rarely covered or discussed,” and said they included the troops who had volunteered to serve, the families of those that have been deployed for a year or more and the Iraqis who have sought at great risk to restore normalcy to their country.

“Celebrate the daily milestones, the accomplishments they have secured and look to the future of a free and democratic Iraq and to the day that all of our troops return home to the heroes welcome they deserve,” Boylan wrote.

Unfortunately many of those on the other side of the coin, the Hannity's, the NewsMax's, the Drudge Reports and the FreeRepublic.com's are just as unable to see clearly, their fanatical devotion to all things Bush preventing them from seeing the gross miscalculations that have occurred since March of 2003. And when anyone mentions these and tries to figure out what is going wrong, tries to make constant corrections that might save lives, the MaCarthy-esque shouts of 'traitor!' (or some variant of the word) are usually close behind.

The vast majority is the rest of us, those who subscribe to neither school of thought, are subjected to both extremist viewpoints.

As far as your comments regarding Dean, the same can be said of George W. Bush.

Intestinal (and moral) fortitude is the ability to do the right thing in the face of adversity. Anything less is cowardice. GW is saving lives, but it sometimes TAKES lives to save more...Europe was besieged by Nazis who wanted to eradicate *inferior* races and gobble up recources in other countries.

Saddam's regiem wanted to (and did) eradicate *inferior* races (Kurds and opposing religions) and gobble up resources in other nations. GW got bad intel (you can thank his predicessor, Billy Bob for curtailing CIA & FBI) and acted upon his best info. Get over it. We're there, and making a difference. We're not going to leave until the country can self regulate. Remember Viet Nam? We'll not give up to cowardly public pressure this time out...

The Iraq citizens, in a free vote, approved their new Constitution. That was thought of as unattainable not all that long ago.

Got this in an email today, thought I would share it here:

Quote:
Dear Operation Truth Supporter,

More than 2000 American Troops have now been killed in Iraq. As we pass this grim milestone, the media has briefly turned their attention away from celebrity gossip and fad diets, and on to the human cost of the war.

But for over two years, the media have failed to adequately honor the sacrifice of America’s Servicemembers. Putting the names of the fallen on Page A-10 is an insult to America’s Troops and to the families of the fallen, and is yet another example of poor media coverage of the war.

As Veterans of this war, we are asking you to please write to your local newspaper now, and urge them to honor the sacrifice of America’s Troops by publishing daily casualty reports on Page One. It takes only three clicks to send a letter with our easy-to-use tool. You can do it in less than a minute.

Your email will do more than just help sway newspaper editors. The “Letters to the Editor” are one of the most widely-read sections of the newspaper, and are often watched by elected officials. Politicians need to hear that you consider the war a priority issue.

Every email makes a difference. Once you send your letter, forward this email to your friends. It’s is an easy way to make a concrete change in war coverage in your community, and to honor the sacrifice of the American Troops that have died in Iraq.

Thank you for REALLY supporting the Troops,

Paul

So Bush acted on "bad intel" that was Clinton's fault.

Interesting.

The positive things that are happening over there keep getting overlooked.

As for the intell, Clinton, Kerry, Gore, the top Democratic leadership, UN, France, Germany, Russia etc are all on record as believing there were WMD's and that is based partly on the fact the SH used them against the Kurds and Iranians.
