Why is it hard to understand? It seems simple enough to me! He sounds like a "do it yourself" terrorist preparing to make a name for himself - without realizing the name will fairly soon be forgotten and, besides - he'd be dead. No basking in the limelight for him. Doesn't that occur to these brainwashed kids?

It's not being unable to understand - it's classic case of refusing to see what they wish to ignore. Trying to be "politically correct." Reminds me of a sentence in Romans, in the New Testament - "and professing themselves to be smart, they became fools." We really can't afford to have fools on our judicial benches.

Maawad had ordered $3,000 in aviation materials, including DVDs titled "Ups and Downs of Takeoffs and Landings," "Airplane Talk," "Mental Math for Pilots" and "Mastering GPS Flying," FBI agent Thad Gulczynski testified.

Why would the company wait until they didn't receive payment to report what they obviously recognized as an aberrant purchase? Talk about self-serving! Would they have reported it if he had paid?

Yes - this is very scary. Will we need the Patriot Act to add to it's already rather overbearing monitoring to check all sales of this sort? Really, it's unlikely that Congress will even notice it, isn't it.
