![]() | I don't find the commission credible. I think it has become a partisan witch hunt. I have seen interviews with Senators from both parties who say that the closed hearings are not partisan, but the public hearings do have some partisan grandstanding. I think it is sad that a group of adults that we elected can't conduct a public hearing with out election year attacks. They say that they are a non-partisan commission looking to see if 9/11 could have been prevented in an effort to fix what is broken and prevent further attacks. But what this has become is a politically motivated blame game. I will have little faith in the commissions findings because of this. What are your thoughts? |

| Non-Commissioned Officer ![]() | Jamie Gorelick was the acting #3 head at the FBI back when Bubba was prez. She drafted a lot of the procedural blocks keeping intel from going to/from the FBI from/to the intelligence agencies. She has a LOT to hide. Let's take another look at something. Nothing's been said by this so-called bipartisan commission about Bubba's 1995 Executive Order banning the gathering of HUMINT from anyone with a shady background. Any detective or cop on here will tell you that you will rarely get any good info on what the bad boys are doing by talking to squeaky clean citizens. Sorry, that does not compute. John Deutsch vigorously enforced this EO. This 9/11 Commission stinks like a dead fish.

| Junior Officer ![]() | 9/11 commission was a good idea the makeup of the panel is flawed. I believe if the commission were made up of several of the people posting in this forum that have opposing views; the outcome would serve the American public much better. No polical advantage to be gained by anyone here meanwhile the opposing views would assure in depth questioning of the different witnesses. End result a report based on facts or as many facts that could be generated. Once the report was complete everyone goes back to point/ counter point here instead of their political life. Simplistic ? Yes but think about the frustration we all experience when we listen to the grandstanding & perceived CYA tactics. Who here wouldn't do a better job simply because it's the right thing to do? |
