Rice Apologizes for Omitting Pan Am 103

National security adviser Condoleezza Rice apologized Thursday for not including the bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland, in a list of terrorist incidents she cited to the federal panel investigating the 2001 attacks.

"As you know from your painful personal experience, this was the most deadly terrorist action prior to Al-Qaida's attack of September 11, 2001 on the World Trade Center," Rice wrote in a letter to families of Pam Am 103 victims. "As we put my remarks for the 9/11 Commission together, we listed the major attacks committed by Al-Qaida or other terrorist groups such as Hizballah. We did not include attacks that were the work of a government, such as the Libyan government's bombing of Pan Am 103. This was a mistake."

Rice then apologized, offering "my deepest sympathy" for the families' losses.

She's a brilliant woman. I would expect this much class from her. She made a mistake and she admitted it and apologized.
