News Report on the VA hospitals

Don't know if any one has seen this, but there is a report on VA healthcare coming up at 10pmET on ABC. Could lead to interesting discussions tomorrow.

No, I posted it about 50 minutes before it was coming on. I watched it and really feel bad about how some of our disabled veterans are being treated. I won't say too much now because I am really po'd about the care in those facilities. Maybe I'll expand on my feelings tomorrow.

I watched the report & the glaring fact that incompetent leadership from the top down is causing far to many vetrans to die.

The wealth accumulated by those that are being paid to assure care should be conficated & paid to the families of those that died. For once this doesn't have to do with politics it has to do with people that have no conscious.

I have a suggestion fire all those lazy do nothings. No pension no benefits nothing that would give them comfort. Particularly any management that has responsibility to make sure proper care is administered. Then hire anyone out of work that is willing to do that kind of work. Send a message that life matters especially when that life made it possible for those rats to enjoy theirs.

I'd be arrested for doing what I'd like to do to those people.

I watched the Primetime show last night on the VA hospitals and it made me absolutley furious. There are some good VA hospitals, but when it comes down to it, they are all run by the same people who just really don't give a rats a** about our veterans.

I hate to say it but it almost would be better to have congress step in and change how things are done, and even the thought of that is scary in and of itself. Something has to be done, our men and women don't deserve to be treated this way, they deserve better.

I somehow have this feeling that those who are letting it become rundown don't really care that they are taking care of veterans or ordinary americans or people for that matter. Incompetence is incompetence.

And people who are carelessly incompetent when entrusted with the care of another life ought to be lined up against the wall and shot.

I agree!

As I said in another thread I use the VA system here in NY (Northport LI and Brooklyn), both are good, clean, well cared for facilities. My SOs father spent many months in Northport. He was 100% disabled and they took excellent care of him. I am Vice Commander of our American Legion Post and we do a lot with the veterans at St. Albans VAHC, visit them, run their bingo games and bus them to our post for dinners during the year. I've heard no complaints from them either.

I believe that the ABC staff did their homework and picked out some of the worst facilities in the system to give "shock value" to the piece. The system absolutely needs changes, but not all facilities are as bad as they portrayed.
