Default Why does the Shia population in Iraq...

..hold back violence against the killing of their people?

Today they bombed a young couples wedding at a Mosque, killing many people. They attacked in other places in fact they attack the Shia majority everyday. Al-Zwaquri(sp) scumbag called their religious leader Satan. Which is laughable to me but I would think is a serious insult to the people who follow him, yet he still runs around killing at will. There have been no reprisal attacks from Chia population that I am aware of. They seem to be holding back and are patient.

Perhaps it is the fact they are waiting for the elections? I seen them interview several young Shia men and they said no matter what they were going to vote and make a new Iraq. The current President is Shia is he not?

One thing is for sure whatever the Shia are doing their patience in the face of cold blooded murder of their people deserves good words and praise.

Once the elections are over however I wonder just how long their patience will last.

Also the Kurds seem quiet, are the in agreement with the elections are just holding back also? We know how brutal they were treated under Saddam and they have always welcomed the American troops as far as I am aware.

I await the day when Al-Zwaquri loses his head.

Default Re: Why does the Shia population in Iraq...

Caldric, since Zarqawi has pledged himself and his men to bin Laden, I would guess they have become - or already were - of the Wahabbi sect of Sunni Islam.

The Shi'ites, or Shia Sect, are the majority and more fanatic than most Sunni Muslims, but the Wahabbi sect, which is indeed Sunni, has changed that. Most Iraqis want elections and freedom, I believe. But those pledged to Saddam are going to continue this slaughter as long as they can get away with it.

The Kurds, while Sunni, would vote against anyone who had ever been sided with Saddam.

Meantime, Saddam is alive and restorable if the wrong faction in Iraq wins in the fighting and fear department. So we must prevail.

Thanks, you have a very good insight in the region and I was hoping you would respond.

You say the Shia are more fanatic which makes me worry that we have shed blood so that Iran can run Iraq. That is very sad case in deed, I hope they have a little amount of nationalism down in their hearts to keep that from happening. However if the people wish to follow Iran then that is what they chose and we have no say in it.

Iran for all the heated debates and its minor (in my knowledge) support of some terrorist against Israel has really not been that much of a danger of course that could change if Zarqawi is given a nuke so he can go kiss his virgins although I think if Allah is a rightful God then he will have long ago sold his soul to hell.

Zarquawi isn't going to go to heaven anymore than I am

This whole nonsense about the virgins is so overblown these days that it makes me laugh.

As fasr as I am concerned - the Shi'a sect is harmless compared to the Sunnis. My long study of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Zia ul-Haq have taught me that...
