Lone wolf terrorist.

They passed new laws where anyone suspected of receiving money for terrorism or planning terrorism can be deported quickly without trial.

Are we worried about lost rights? I guess a Lone Wolf terrorist could do a lot of damage with the info on the Internet.

It wont withstand legal review. I am not a big fan of the courts but sometimes congress just rolls things out without reading them too much.

I remember a case about a year ago where they were trying to deport a permanent resident because he got a DUI. The supreme court said 'nay' and instead the guy did like a month in jail.

We have got to be careful as a country that we dont revert into a state of immigrant paranoi and end up like Germany in WW2 or worse. This country was built on immigrants and is a nation of immigrants. That is what has made us the greatest country ever. Is it unfortunate that some use this against us? Of course, but it is not something you drop principles over.

You know a second thought on this. Why would you deport anyone accused of either of these things? You'd think you would want them here and in jail so he could be questioned. hmm they definately didnt mull this one around too much for sure.

You think they'd do a better job since many in Congress are lawyers and have other lawyers and researchers on their staffs. I think it was passed in too much of a rush.

I find they would be better in jail here, where we can keep an eye on what they are up to, not to mention who they are making contact with.

Regarding the lawmakers in Washington.

Have often thought lawyers should not be allowed to run for any political office. :-). Which of course is ridiculous as O'Reilly would say.

Sure was, I was thinking of the same person at the time I wrote, but let us not forget Kerry is also a lawyer.
