| NCO ![]() | LONDON (AP) - The U.S.-led war in Iraq hasn't made the world any safer, U.N. Secretary General Kofi Annan said in a British TV interview aired Sunday. "I cannot say the world is safer when you consider the violence around us, when you look around you and see the terrorist attacks around the world and you see what is going on in Iraq," Annan told the ITV network. "We have a lot of work to do as an international community to try and make the world safer," he said. Annan has previously described the U.S.-led war that toppled Saddam Hussein as "illegal." He told ITV that Iraq was on track to hold elections at the end of January and said he would speak out if he was not satisfied with the way they are conducted. "If that sort of judgment or any decision which is made which we think detracts from the credibility and viability of the elections, we will be duty bound to say so," he said. Annan also dismissed any suggestion that France, Russia and China had been prepared to ease sanctions on Saddam Hussein's Iraq in return for oil contracts. Iraq tried to manipulate foreign governments by awarding contracts - and bribes - to foreign companies and political figures in countries that showed support for ending sanctions, in particular Russia, France and China, the final report by the U.S.-led Iraq Survey Group said earlier this month. But Annan said it was "inconceivable" Saddam's activities could have influenced policy in the countries concerned. "I don't think the Russian or the French or the Chinese government would allow itself to be bought..." Annan said. "I think it's inconceivable. These are very serious and important governments. You are not dealing with banana republics." Earth to Kofi! His term in office at the United Nations hasn't made the world free from danger either. The UN is a joke, and in Kofi’s realm of reality, he chooses a dictatorship as the preferable style of government. Disseminating autonomy and independence isn’t Kofi’s cup of tea. Never mind a bloody tyrant massacred and tortured Iraqis, Kurds and Iranians, as well as producing WMDs, that was hunky dory to Hussein. At least Saddam wasn’t bothering anybody else, at least not yet. Kofi has his Sponge Bob boxer shorts in a wad because the U.S. terminated the U.N. Oil-for-food con game. As probe goes on, it's all to clear Saddam Hussein bought off any and all sorts of bureaucrats, as well as buying votes on the UN Security Council. Kofi is not a friend to America. His ambition is to have a more powerful UN, but he cannot achieve that goal because the US still dominates in world affairs. In order for Kofi to reach his objective in making the UN stronger, America has to become a weak nation, and that would be acceptable to his goals. Now we know what Kerry and Kofi have in common. ![]() Annan: Iraq War Hasn't Made World Safer http://apnews.myway.com/article/20041017/D85P9D603.html

| Non-Commissioned Officer ![]() | Kofi's just angry as heck that his son isn't making any more money off the "Oil for Food" program that was being skimmed by Kofi's son, the French, the Germans, the Russians and Saddam. The UN is useless. They should the f_ck outta NYC!!!!!

The UN is a joke - a dirty joke. It's gone further down than the League of Nations, its predecessor of world organization. We should kick them out of the US, definitely! And the US should get out of the UN. The only alternative would be to redo the whole organization - and unfortunately, I'm afraid it's just too late.
