Default Am I crazy?
Today for the fourth time I heard a Democratic press person talk about Kerry's record and mention his "two tours in VietNam". When I was there, a tour was a little over twelve months. From what I've read, Kerry served four months, about one third of a tour, not two tours. Who is feeding them their information?

Uninformed people with microphones inhabit both sides of the aisle. It is not a partisan issue in this respect, just a 'stupid people' issue.

Did you count his earlier deployment aboard the USS Gridley?? Sounds to me that you haven't, and that you are assuming all 'tours' to be 12 months. They weren't.

One of my 'tours' - or 'deployments' on the USS Canberra, CAG-2, in 1966/67 lasted about 8 months. Seaman Appprentice Hegdahl, a shipmate whom I quote below, had his tour extended - one tour - 3 1/2 years.....
