Aye, and our police do something similar with dogs being trained to jump out of helicopters etc. I believe that the Paras (Parachute Regiment) do what the article mentions. While the Paras may be better than most regular army units across the world, they are not the "elite".

There's no reason not to take this story as it's told and believe it.
There's a lot more reasons to ignore the tabloids with regards to Special Forces articles then to believe them.

Remember Marianne, the Daily Mail and The Sun have reputations for putting sales before accuracy. Any mention of the SAS gets people reading the article, thus selling more newspapers and therefore adding to their bank accounts.

I figured it for a tabloid, Anth, but online you take what's available and I'd never heard of it, of course. I don't think anything extraordinary is in the story, though. That's why I don't discount what is being told.

I have fun with those stories; first real tabloid I've ever gotten into. Except for the NY Times, of course. It's apt to be less accurate than these; anything to sell newspapers! Even published the name of an undercover agent of ours, getting her killed.

Anything
to sell a newspaper!

There are a lot of reputable sources online Marianne. Even then you have to sift through. If you want a tabloid, then The National Inquirer is a good one.
