| Monkey Mouse ![]() | Amazing the lack of loyalty in this family 'Dog' Chapman's Son Taped, Sold N-Word Tirade to Tabloid, Says Lawyer Television bounty hunter Duane "Dog" Chapman's son taped a private phone conversation in which the reality star used a racial slur repeatedly, then sold it to a tabloid for "a lot of money," Chapman's lawyer said Thursday. "I guess because of whatever level of anger he had of his father, he felt the need to express it in that manner," attorney Brook Hart told The Associated Press. Tucker Chapman could not be reached for comment; no one answered the telephone at a Honolulu number listed under his name. The National Enquirer on Wednesday posted on its Web site a clip of a conversation in which Duane Chapman, star of the hit A&E series "Dog the Bounty Hunter," repeatedly used the N-word in reference to Tucker's girlfriend. Chapman later apologized to his son and the woman, then learned about how the tape got into the tabloid's hands, Hart said. A&E has suspended production of the series, saying the network takes the matter seriously. "When the inquiry is concluded, we will take appropriate action," A&E spokesman Michael Feeney said in a statement Thursday. The show, in its fifth season and one of A&E's top-rated programs, has not been canceled. An after-hours telephone message for David Perel, the Enquirer's editor in chief, was not immediately returned. But earlier in the day, Perel declined to say how the tape was obtained, saying what mattered was what's on the tape. In the conversation, Chapman urges Tucker to break up with his girlfriend. He also expresses concern about the girlfriend trying to tape and go public about the TV star's use of the N-word. Chapman has said he was "disappointed in his choice of a friend, not due to her race, but her character. However, I should have never used that term." He also said he was ashamed of himself and pledged to make amends. Hart said his client is not a racist and vowed never to use the word again. "I have never seen anything that suggests he judges people by the color of their skin or racial background or anything but on their character," he said. "Duane lost his composure and made very, very inappropriate remarks, for which he truly regrets." The TV series follows Chapman and his tattooed crew as they track down bail jumpers in Hawaii and other states. The show also stars some members of Chapman's family, but Tucker Chapman is not regularly featured. The Honolulu-based bounty hunter first grabbed headlines for apprehending serial rapist and Max Factor heir Andrew Luster in Mexico in 2003. Source

I have heard this term for most of my life. Sometimes in anger and sometimes in a joking manner by a blacks. Its strange that if Dog was any other color this would not be news. As for the son that sold the tape I believe that using a conversation without permission is illegal. Maybe dog can sue the newspaper that bought and get the funds that they paid the son. | |

| Monkey Mouse ![]() | A&E Pulls 'Dog' From Schedule Over Racist Rant Television bounty hunter Duane "Dog" Chapman's show has been pulled from the air indefinitely by A&E, two days after a private phone conversation in which the reality star used a racial slur repeatedly was posted online. "In evaluating the circumstances of the last few days, A&E has decided to take `Dog The Bounty Hunter' off the network's schedule for the foreseeable future," the network said in a statement Friday. "We hope that Mr. Chapman continues the healing process that he has begun." A&E officials said the series, one of the network's top-rated programs, has not been canceled. Chapman, 54, has been under fire and accused of being a racist ever since the private conversation with his son, Tucker Chapman, was posted online Wednesday by The National Enquirer. Chapman used the N-word repeatedly about his son's black girlfriend. At least two advertisers have pulled out from the show and civil rights groups have called for its cancellation. Soon after the clip was posted, Chapman issued an apology and A&E suspended production of the series. In the conversation, Chapman urges Tucker to break up with his girlfriend. He also expresses concern about the girlfriend trying to tape and go public about the TV star's use of the N-word. He used the slur six times in the first 45 seconds of the five-minute clip. Chapman has said he was "disappointed in his choice of a friend, not due to her race, but her character. However, I should have never used that term." He also said he was ashamed of himself and pledged to make amends. His attorney, Brook Hart said his client is not a racist and vowed never to use the word again. Hart said Tucker Chapman taped the call and sold it to the Enquirer for "a lot of money." David Perel, the Enquirer's editor in chief, would not comment on how it obtained the tape. Civil rights leaders said they were not satisfied with the removal of the show from A&E's schedule. A coalition of groups in Los Angeles sent a letter to network executives Friday demanding a cancellation. The coalition said the comments were more than racially demeaning and hurtful to black women. "They are a vicious attack on and call to end interracial relations, as well as an incitement to violence," the letter said. Earl Ofari Hutchinson, president of Los Angeles Urban Policy Roundtable, said the coalition believes Chapman's language was much more damaging than shock jock Don Imus' comments. Imus was fired by CBS in April over his "nappy-headed hos" remark about the Rutgers University women's basketball team. Citadel Broadcasting Corp. Thursday announced Imus' return to radio in December. "If they can essentially say, 'We're firing Imus in the front door and bring him in the back door later on,' they can also do the same with this guy and his show," Hutchinson said. "It seems like to me A&E is keeping their options open." The TV series follows Chapman and his tattooed crew as they track down bail jumpers in Hawaii and other states. The show also stars some members of Chapman's family, but Tucker Chapman is not regularly featured. The Honolulu-based bounty hunter first grabbed headlines for apprehending serial rapist and Max Factor heir Andrew Luster in Mexico in 2003. Source

| NCO ![]() | I do not watch Dog which airs here on this side of the pond as after seeing a few episodes I feel it is a program of questionable standards of a rather tasteless nature. This is little gutterpress slimeball reporting episode does once again highlight the dual standards that we have in our society. If I as a Caucasian am referred to as a whitey that's fine for the people calling me that because I am white and they more often than not are black, call me honky that's fine, WASP that's fine as well even though I just happen not to be a protestant. Trevor Phillips the leader of the Racial Equality Board here on this side of the pond famously said that blacks cannot be deemed racialistic. White people he felt did not have the same level of feelings in this kind of issue. No we probably don't we are adult enough to realise that in anger things are said that are often not the wisest but have grown to realise that making an issue of triviality is often counter productive. I also have to suffer under the usual statement I suppose you hate kaffirs when people hear I am a South African with a white skin. No I love kaffirs because most of the ignorant in this world do not know the words true meaning. I am a kaffir and I suspect most on Trackpads are as well. I am a Christian and proud of it! The whole problem with little bursts of indignation like this is that it assuages the consciences of those "educated" liberals the "in" set, the chic, PC's call them what you will who, more often than not are whites who feel that this kind of indignant howling helps those disadvantaged people of non Caucasian ethnic origin. I worked almost exclusively with non white police officers in RSA and almost without exception the so called Kaffir question was not high on their agenda for wrongs needing righting and they regularly called each other Kaffirs. I suspect that for most American people of colour it will be the same in respect of ******. There are bigger ills in life that need addressing. The things that pissed my guys off were in no particular order, lack of respect for qualifications obtained on the same level between white and blacks, lack of fairness in the job market, lack of educational opportunities, the obvious one in South Africa the segregationalist policies, lack of facilities dedicated to the cultural (historical as well) aspects of their various tribal groupings. They also resented the pay differentials and the black WPC's were no exception. They also felt housing was a problem and that being unable to get a firm footing on the wealth ladder was the biggest injustice of them all. There was much discourse on how the predominantly white and often very wealthy liberal classes were often the biggest shouters for black rights yet the same class were the ones who made it nigh on impossible for any person white or otherwise to integrate into their institutions often using "education" and wealth qualification (subject to status) as a barrier to advancement. So yes ****** may as cato puts it still be a racialistic term but the furore that surrounds it often leads us to take our eye off the real causes of injustice that require fixing. Perhaps if Dog was a little less Christian then this furore might not be around. Of course if he was black and she were white Christian or no Christian this furore would definitely not be around!
