'Pappy, I'm dead," says stabbed twin hiding in attic PENN HILLLS, Pennsylvania (AP) -- Authorities said they are searching for a man in connection with the stabbing of 11-year-old twin brothers, one of whom died of his wounds.
The boys' grandfather, Lovett Williams, said he found Tyron Hill dead and Tyrel Hill injured when he went to visit them at their home on Tuesday.
"There was blood everywhere," he said. "Everywhere. Blood all over the house. Downstairs, up the steps."
He said he heard one of the boys call out, "Pappy, I'm dead. I'm dying," and found Tyrel Hill hiding in the attic, bleeding and wrapped in a blanket.
Tyrel's brother, Tyron, was also in the attic, stabbed to death.
Allegheny County police said they believe an 18-year-old male relative stabbed the boys and then ran from the scene. No charges were immediately filed.
Police and other searchers combed the neighborhood with dogs and thermal imaging devices but had not found the suspect Tuesday night.
Tyrel was listed in critical condition at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh and is expected to survive, said James Morton, assistant police superintendent. |
