| Crooning Wolf ![]() | Rush Limbaugh was arrested on illegal prescription drug purchases and use today. He pled to a reduced charge, which in essense is admission of guilt. We shall see how equally he is treated compared to anyone w/o a national rep. CBS News (Orlando, FL.), 6:10 PM, Saturday, 29 April. |

| The Librarian ![]() | As you know, this is not the first time! I rarely agree with the man, but I love his skill with words. I imagine this will hurt him with his right-wing base but as a person who can afford an excellent shyster, as opposed to a public defender, he will get off with a small fine!

| Monkey Mouse ![]() | I'm not a fan of Rush Limbaugh's, but did follow this. If I understood this correctly, what happened today is what happens with all plea bargains. The DA puts in a charge (or whatever they call it), the defendent pleads 'no contest' and is then to do whatever the plea bargain terms were. In this case, that is see a doctor about his addiction for something like 18 months. There was a $30,000 fine. This is the end result of a couple of years of dickering. He did enough preaching about drug addicts on his show and it turns out that he was one himself. To me, that is hypocrisy.

| Crooning Wolf ![]() | This is (or should be) a felony altho' I don't know yet to what degree. In most cases for the average péon out there it would almost certainly involve prison time. At the very LEAST he should have probation time with prison for unserved probation time if he violates the terms. That, I assume, is the 18 months...truly a joke, but then I consider Limbaugh to be a joke. He's a master propagandist to be sure and I give him his due for that, but if one dissects what he says and follows the manner in which he turns "nothings" from rumor or half-truths into "hard fact" in the course of a 3 hour show is truly amazing. He was born, IMO, a hundred years too late. Last edited by DocDiggs; 04-29-2006 at 20:13.. |

| Crooning Wolf ![]() | Certainly people get hooked, but it is against the law to do what Limbaugh did. He knew it, but did it anyhow in the sneakiest of manners. He's no hausfrau hooked on Valium because she can't cope with a bunch of yowling kids that she never learned how to control, he's an educated (?) man with a national rep who chose to break the law rather than get the professional help that he required. No glossing over or making excuse for him. So all things considered.... When and if he complies without violation or special privelege, then I will consider him even with the rest of society. Until then he's just another violator of the law. I assume that he will be considered as such in TP. Last edited by DocDiggs; 04-29-2006 at 20:22.. |

| Non-Commissioned Officer ![]() | I like Rush. He always brings up some great points. BUT as Doc said ( yes I'm agreeing with ya Doc ) he broke the law. He had choices, more than alot of people do, and he chose not to use them. For that he must pay the price. Did this happen because of his popularity? I say yes. But he broke the law and just like anyone else he pays. It's the way it is
