CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- A convicted murderer who is serving a life sentence without parole has won a $50,000 lawsuit.

Mark Allen Harris is serving his time in West Virginia. He sued the Kanawha County Judicial Annex in 2002 when he fell out of the back of a regional jail van, breaking bones in his face and knocking out some teeth.

Monday, a jury awarded him $30,000 for past mental and physical pain and suffering; $10,000 for annoyance and inconvenience and another $10,000 for loss of enjoyment of life.

The fall also resulted in the delay of his sexual assault trial. He was later convicted. Harris had previously been found guilty of killing a 2-year-old and escaping from a jail.

What kinda of idiots were on the jury....its crap like this that makes me sooooooo mad.What about the family of the 2year old,they should get every thing he won,and that bastard should get the chair!!!!

loss of enjoyment of life...the Judge and jury needs to spend some time with this family on a day to day basis. then go bury eachother!

I sure hope the family files a civil suit for 50 grand. At least this one time the ****ing piece of **** dirtbag would have it to pay.

Send the judge and jury to the family's house and turn a blind eye and deaf ear to the results.

In the United States, when someone is a prisoner for whatever rerason, do you take away all his/her rights. is he to be denied food, bedding, shelter, safety and the obeservance of the laws that say you can't transoprt someone without regards to their safety. You know, like when a plane crashes, all the victims or their families run around with their hand out.

The guy (the arsehole low life he is), is in prison for the rest of his life for not respecting the law. Do the people whose job and responsibility it is to uphold the law become exempt because of his crimes. Think about it people, otherwise were do you draw the line. Does the law apply to everyone or not?
