67-year-old Adriana Iliescu, an author and academic, who sought fertility treatment, she is seven months pregnant with twins.

Iliescu said she always desired to be a mother, but was incapable to conceive the usual way, and she is positive regarding her chance being a mom, because Iliescu asserts her family has a record of longevity.

In 2003, an Indian woman who was age 65, she had a boy.

From Nayagarh in Orissa, a school teacher, Satyabhama Mahapatra could have conceive naturally, so she became impregnated with an egg from her 26-year-old-niece, and the egg was fertilized by Satyabhama’s husband.

Satyabhama Mahapatra and her husband have been married for 50 years, and this was their first child.

John, where do you find these stories? Her longevity will no doubt be increased 100 fold by the birth of these twins - if she survives the birth. It happens, they say. My mother was 44 when my youngest brother was born and lived to be 15 days shy of 99. Now just imagine the math for this woman... you do it - math defeats me and this would be most discouraging!!

She'll miss the best part of course - grandchildren. No way can she hope for being able to romp with them and return them to "mamma" to be diapered.


John, as a nurse - well, you can't nurse them, of course, but you could find a wet-nurse for her perhaps.

I'll go along with that so long as it doesn't involve pregnancy and birthing a baby! Especially at my age. All ecstacy and no agony.
