Default [MV] Florida and back 2006

Returned last week from another Florida trip with the deuce.
It was a test for the heated fuel tank and over 100 gallons of biodiesel and
veggie oil was used during the first 1,000 miles.
Heating the fuel made it possible to run a mixture 50% biodiesel and 50%
used filtered cooking oil, even with ambient temps in the 30's.

Did you sleep in the deuce at the truck stop? I've slept in one , but only
cause I was dead tired.

Yes Pat, I did sleep in the deuce several times, a sleeping bag and the all
important pillow does the trick. I fell safe at the truck stops surrounded
by the "big" guys. Perhaps the only problem is the noise from the other
trucks...they are constantly moving around and when parked, at idle all
night.

Kenny, it's always a pleasure to visit your place in the sun. Even got a
police escort the last few blocks he he he. Thanks for your hospitality and
the equipment/help you so willingly offer! I owe you.
Looking for a report on the biodiesel experiment now. :-)

Bruce, thanks for the kind words, you are more than welcome.

Hi Ed,
Thanks for the info! I belong to several of the forums listed and they offer
a lot of good solutions.

My approach is a little different in that my heated fuel tank was ment to
make it possible to run on biodiesel at ANY ambient temperature. No mixing
with diesel or kerosene ever. The heated tank also permits the mixing of
veggie oil with the biodiesel if so desired. The smaller, "Aux" tank is for
starting and shutting down in cold weather only, say at temps below 35F.

For documentation of the project, see:
