| Civilians | I am looking for a locking fuel tank cap for my M-1009. I've already toured the auto parts shops and LMC truck has sent one that they promised would work that is back in the mail to them as it was, like all that I've seen so far, too small. Can anyone sell me one or direct me to a person, web site or store that's close by that has a locking fuel tank cap that will fit my M-1009?? I would appreciate any help that you can give!! I'm saddened to say in today's world you MUST have a locking fuel tank cap or your fuel will be in someone else's tank! Also someone that doesn't like military vehicles can pour sugar or some other substance into your tank and wait to see what happens. To cover these items I would prefer to just add a locking fuel tank cap and be safer in the long run! Thanks in advance for the time and bandwidth! Wait, I now need two! My Friend also has an M-1009 and wants one for his. Someone please sell me two or send me to someone that can really help!!!! | Civilians | Hi Ed, I'm not sure, but arn't these the same fill pipes that are used on the big rigs? Maybe a truck stop has one that will fit. The other thing I was thinking of was to get one of those locks that has the long shackle that comes all the way out so you have two pieces. The shackle has notches in it so that it is adjustable. Figure out some way to slip this over the bar on top of the existing cap so that it is constrained on both sides of the fill pipe. Another idea would be to drill a hole thru that top bar so that you could stick a locking pin thru that was secured to the truck somehow with a lock. Be sure to seal under neath so that fumes don't come out. Anyway, something to think about. Bruce MVPA 23824 Ed wrote: [color=blue] >I am looking for a locking fuel tank cap for my M-1009. | Civilians | Remember, that these fill pipes are not standard. They are part of the Military configuration. I believe that the fill caps on the standard Blazer are much smaller diameter. I haven't seen this but I've been told that the Military version is much larger so that they can accomodate the large fill hoses, refered to as Donkey D.......s or some such. IMPAC may cary them since they cater to the Military and you can look it up by NSN. | Civilians | Disregard the last part of the previous post regarding IMPAC, since you will just end up with the same thing you already have, instead of a locking cap. | Civilians | Thanks VERY much to Bruce and John both for the fast answers and help, it is VERY much appreciated! I'll let you know what I find out and how the problem is solved. In today's world if you don't have a locking fuel cap on ALL of your vehicles you are simply asking for trouble. Thanks again!
