Default Re: [MV] OT: HD Truck transmission swap basics (no MV - deletenow if you must)

Thanks to all who had comments and advice for my truck. Looks like I am going to
start with a different ring and pinion from Valley Truck parts here in Michigan.
My truck currently has a 6.17 ratio; I am looking to install a 4.33. Should make
quite a difference.

Still got my heart set on an overdrive roadranger, but the parts guy ad Valley
said it would be some serious work. If I can find the right one, as in cheap
(looking for a RTOO9513 or similar - anybody got one?), I will do it.

Thanks again!

Mark

Mark, just remember one thing coming from a old timer, some engines are
meant to run at higher RPM's to stay together. Lug it and it will blow,
take my word for it. I know I've popped a few. Too much fuel and low rpm's
will do it. Have a good one. Doug Slager
