Default [MV] M62 Medium Wrecker - wiring loom saga.

Hi all,

Firstly, thanks to all those who responded to my previous questions
about the M62. I've hit a bit of a problem though. I'm having trouble
finding a replacement wiring loom - does anyone out there have an M62
that they are parting out, or know of anyone I could ask?

The companies/addresses I have tried so far (with little or no luck,
still waiting for replies from some) are:

Chris Muys
Front Line Military Vehicles
Memphis Equipment
Murrays
Repo Depot
Kublo's Military Surplus
Military Convoy
Vintage Wiring of Maine
White Owl
Boyce Equipment
Clarke Truck Parts
Owens Export
Sam Winer
Alretha Truck Parts
Joe Young Inc
Spunky's Motor Pool
Oxman's Surplus
Eastern Surplus
John Winslow Sales
Berg Supply
Zecon Industries
Command Wiring
Sarafan
Sunland Truck Equipment
Sam Werner
Miltrucks
Roger's Military Surplus
Valley Truck Parts
Northwest Equipment
Erickson Truck n' Parts
Star Electric Ordnance
KLC Surplus
Frank Cox Military Trucks
Scott's American Truck Parts
Charles E Gillman
The Fred George Company
Ordnance.com
John Bircheff Military Vehicle Sales
Antelope Valley
Gavin
Simex Defence
btp sales

I have yet to try Reome (I'll try them in the week).

Thanks!

Colin.

Gee Colin, I would think that after 42+ venders you would have hit paydirt.
Methinks that with a wrecker that old any take off would probably be as old
and as bad as your original harness. My guess that at this point you will
have to make your own. Good luck

Would think he needs one in better condition than his, so he can copy
it......have been there myself....copying something better, but still
worthless...so I can get what I need.

Try George at VT Commercial Salvage.
He had some NOS M62 flood light harnesses on ebay a couple of weeks
ago...eBay id is vtcsm37 and his email is VTCSM37 (AT) aol (DOT) com .
He has a bunch of containers full of stuff and is like the proverbial
magician with the bottomless black top hat, and almost always wandering into
one and coming out with that hard to find item. Don't seem to matter what
the M series equipment it's on, he seems to have it stashed on a shelf some
where.
And very good prices too.

Regards, Mr. Ed

Hmm.

You'd think it would have matured with age (much like I plan to). Then
again..... :-)

Jon is right - if a push comes to a shove, a more complete harness than
the one I have would be useful. The one I have has been chopped about by
the Dutch Army.

It seems to me that a harness from an M35 would be a good starting point.
How much different is the harness from an M62? The work lights on the back,
I guess, and some other few differences?
