| Civilians | Hi all, I am now looking to get a Unimog and, unfortunately, get rid of the Pinz. I absolutely love it, but we need only one utility vehicle and our needs have changed. Instead of a go anywhere vehicle we need a do anything vehicle. In other words, a workhorse. Here is what I'm looking for: Probably an early 1970s manufactured 416/417, but a 406 or some of the "U" versions might work too. Does not have to be ex-Military though diesel is mandatory. Must be in good mechanical shape, aesthetics less important since this is going to be a work vehicle, not a show piece. The less cab there is the better, though hard top vs. soft top is preferable. The bed needs to be in solid condition and capable of hauling gravel/dirt, so no troop carrier or box styles will do it for me. A tipping bed is a plus, but not required. Needs to be set up for PTO and hydrolics, though doesn't necessarily need to come with attachments. I am quite interested in a crane (helps moving Weasel tracks around <g>), such as I've seen on some 416 models. I'm not shy about importing from Canada or Europe if it is exactly the right vehicle and at the right price, though I really need it by this summer. I figure 1970s manufacture because of titling/importing issues and COST. I'd sure love one of the 1980s models, but man-oh-man are those pricey. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
