| Civilians | Darrell, Algae would be a concern if there is water in the fuel. Use "Bio-Kleen" or "Bio-Con" or some other additive. It contains an alcohol which will pick up the water and burn it. Unwased biodiesel contains some methanol and will help get rid of the water. Also, keep your fuel tank topped off (to fill line) to reduce water from condensation. Veggie oil and biodiesel contains more oxygen than diesel and may give you a boost as a result. | Civilians | Do you suppose that the extra soot in the exhaust will cause the annual inspection to indicate too many HC's, or is the plan not to run UCO for the few days prior to the inspection? | Civilians | Sonny, I can't speak for Darrell, of course, but The UCO must be filtered before used. I run it through a 5-micron filter before pouring it into the fuel tank. We probably have annual inspection of Commercial Vehicles, but that's as much as I know. There's annual emissions inspection for gasoline powered vehicles in the Atlanta Metro Area, but that's only for newer vehicles (less than 20 years old). Older vehicles are exempt from emissions inspections. -- -- Ryan Gill rmgill (AT) SPAMmindspring (DOT) com ---------------------------------------------------------- | | | -==---- | O--=- | | /_8[*]°_\ |_/|o|_\_| | _________ | /_[===]_\ / 00DA61 \ |/---------\| __/ \--- _w/|=_[__]_= \w_ // [_] o[]\\ _oO_\ /_O|_ |: O(4) == O :| _Oo\=======/_O_ |____\ /____| |---\________/---| [__O_______W__] |x||_\ /_||x| |s|\ /|s| |s|/BSV 575\|s| |x|-\| |/-|x| |s|=\______/=|s| |s|=|_____|=|s| |x|--|_____|--|x| |s| |s| |s| |s| |x| |x| '60 Daimler Ferret '42 Daimler Dingo '42 Humber MkIV (1/3) ---------------------------------------------------------- ===Mil-Veh is a member-supported mailing list==To unsubscribe, send e-mail to <mil-veh-off (AT) mil-veh (DOT) org> To reach a human, contact <ackyle (AT) gmail (DOT) com> Visit the searchable archives at http://www.mil-veh.org/archives/ |
