I have been told by several Do-Rights that if you go buy a new truck,
and have it hauled to the ticket house with no miles on it they can
right you at least 5 tickets if they wanted to. This means it is the
Department of Taxes instead of Transportation or Safety.
I have received tickets for the following that I can think of off the
top of my head:

Writing more than one day off on a page of log book.

Having blank HazMat Plaques on a empty trailer.

Hauling within my home state without a IFTA sticker.

Being my 80,000 pound weight at 76,000 the judge loved that one.

Having expired intrastate authority even though it had a 2006 date on it.

I have been pulled in bobtail at least 20 times this year because my
front axle happens to weigh 11,000 of the allowed 12,000 pounds.

And my favorite, "we have to write you up because you tag expires next week"

All of these have been thrown out but I was out the aggravation. Except
for the weight ticket in that case you have to pay the state even though
the judge dismisses it.

Oh yes, I have been pulled in twice for being overweight with an empty
trailer I had fun with this but it is another story.
