Default Re: [MV] How to fix exhaust manifold cracks

After a good run whilst everything is still hot , quickly grind as clean as
is practical ,a die grinder is often the ideal tool. All equipment should be
ready , speed is of the essence as the engine heat is your preheat in this
application ! Then using a high nickel rod of 2mm or 2.5mm weld up , using
just enough heat to run the rod smoothly !
If the crack is caused by the manifold being worn thin then welding a
coverplate of steel formed to fit over the thin area will help . The same
principle may also be used in brazing a patch on !

Good luck Noel
