Default Re: [MV] Abrams on a budget (?) even more

So I asked the guy selling the F16:
"Is the cockpit sealed, or can someone climb inside and sit in it?"

I get the answer:
"no it is sealed. This is not a toy."

Hmmm. I don't think he'd appreciate all these corny jokes as much as some of us. For the milsim/airsoft community these would make great static display props. Hence we would sort of be using them as toys. oh well.

I'd suspect that these would not be punctured by 6mm airsoft pellets... (Heaven Forbid... Here comes MV content!) To protect my jeep from 6mm BBs; I installed a screen on the front of my M38A1's radiator so BBs wouldn't bend all the little radiator fins. It's also proved to be useful against bugs and various small debris. After spending way too much to have that original radiator rebuilt, I had to take extra precaution to preserve it longer. I might have to mod all my vehicles like that.

So basically you're saying that over-inflated program was full of hot air?

These were recently demilled and surplussed. It all Started after an
insurgent was captured carrying an IAD (Improvised Anti Tank Device)
http://www.safetymedia.com/usrimage/cat485.jpg

The press began to puncture the feasability of the weapon system. The
pressure increased finally until The DoD commissioned a study and found that
it was too costly to deploy the Repair Tool.

and Field Repair Kit

Coupled with the fact that the budget ballooned, and it was discovered that
the performance figures were pumped up by the contractor.

It basically let the air out of the program for the new weapon system.
