Hello Stu,

If the jeep is fitted with an R-442 receiver (using an AB-15 base) then you
can use either the three-section antenna (MS 116A/117A/118A) or you can use the
top section of the standard 2-piece antenna (the AT-1095 section). Is this
what you mean?

However, you cannot use the top section on its own with the standard MX-6707
antenna base without doing some damage to the RT-524 or the RT-246 set. These
sets must have the 2-piece antenna to function correctly. The TM warns about
using the 2-piece antenna if even a small portion of the tip is missing/broken.
