| Civilians | They may have done it to keep someone from accidentaly putting gasoline in it. I've seen it before. | Civilians | I am betting that Jon is right on the money here. Many of the CUCVs I have seen have "Diesel Only" on the fuel filler door, also during my time in the Seabees, all of our vehicles had either this marking, or "MOGAS Only", depending of course on the vehicle. Still, occasionally, somebody would fill one with the wrong stuff, so imagine how often it might happen without the stencilling lol! Best regards, T. | Civilians | Several years ago when I worked for the electric company, we had lots of vehicles, some that used gas (even older big trucks) and some that used diesel. There was a guy that drove a fuel truck carrying gas <underline>and</underline> diesel around at the end of every day and fueled all the vehicles. Those guys may not always be the brightest or paying attention, so labeling the vehicles probably avoided alot of problems!
