Default [MV] Contract # vs Date

Does the contract # on a vehicle give any indication of its year?
(roughly?)

Mike

Default Re: [MV] Contract # vs Date

Mike:

It depends on when the contract was issued. Recent contract numbers
have a 2 digit year code with a letter (e.g. 87-C) and the 2 digits
indicate the contract year. I don't know if this applies to WW II
items, but it's still the current system.

Hope others can/will fill in the details.

Dick
