| Civilians | OK, I'm starting to use Project again, haven't touched it since '96 or before. I am working on a project that is a launch of multiple products. In the past I used to be able to put a task in my project that was called "launch date" and then I could schedule all of my tasks to be due 1 week before to be essentially "task X - 1W". Then, if there was a change in the launch date I just moved that one task and everything else fell into place. I went throught the help file and have searched all over, the problem is that I am not a project manager by trade and I don't know how to find this functionality because I don't know what to call it. Thanks in advance. |

| Civilians | 1. Create your tasks. Do not enter a start or finish dates on the tasks. Enter a duration. 2. Link the tasks (project will determine the start and finish dates based on the linkages and durations). 3. Double click on the link lines on the Gantt chart. You can set up the lags as appropriate. | Civilians | Hi Pepper, Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :-) From the Gantt Chart view, Window/Split . Set up you milestone and your task with a FS link. Now select the due task and in the bottom screed ente -1w in the lag cell. That should do it. FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at this web address: <http://www.mvps.org/project/> Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :-)) Mike Glen MS Project MVP pepper wrote: > OK, I'm starting to use Project again, haven't touched it > since '96 or before. > > I am working on a project that is a launch of multiple > products. > > In the past I used to be able to put a task in my project > that was called "launch date" and then I could schedule > all of my tasks to be due 1 week before to be > essentially "task X - 1W".
