| Civilians | I answered this yesterday! What is everybody taking exams on old versions of PowerPoint these days? A "build" is an "animation" Animate an object onto a slide and you just did a "build". Then tell your Instructor that the term "build" went out before the wall fell down! -- Bill Foley, Microsoft MVP (PowerPoint) www.pttinc.com Check out PPT FAQs at: http://www.rdpslides.com/pptfaq/ Check out Word FAQs at: http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/General/index.htm "cheinna" <anonymous@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:F0986C32-6676-43A6-9914-3FDF745279C8@microsoft.com... > one of the questions in an exam i have to teach is make sure there is one build, one transition and timings on each slide, what is a build |

| Civilians | Bill, I think that was the instructor. We move very slowly in education, especially when we are forced to teach to the test. --David -- David M. | Civilians | A build is a powerpoint slide in which a series of items, usually text lines are displayed one element at a time either by clicking on the mouse to bring up the next line or automatically by a time delay. Ever watch David Letterman do a top 10 list? You put all 10 items on the list but reveal them by adding or "building" the list one by one until all 10 are on the screen. Most presenters use bullet points to build the list or else it would get to wordy. >-----Original Message----- >one of the questions in an exam i have to teach is make sure there is one build, one transition and timings on each slide, what is a build >. > |

| Civilians | I thought Build was the changing( update) of the version of Powerpoint within the same Version??? edg wrote: > A build is a powerpoint slide in which a series of items, > usually text lines are displayed one element at a time > either by clicking on the mouse to bring up the next line > or automatically by a time delay. | Civilians | In article <ewGAKE1PEHA.640@TK2MSFTNGP12.phx.gbl>, Patricia wrote: > I thought Build was the changing( update) of the version of Powerpoint > within the same Version??? Yup. Lotsa words have different meanings, depending on who you're talking to. To a carpenter, "Build" is what s/he does for a living. To most of us, "Bill'd" is what we get for installing Windows. ;-) > > edg wrote: > > A build is a powerpoint slide in which a series of items, > > usually text lines are displayed one element at a time > > either by clicking on the mouse to bring up the next line > > or automatically by a time delay.
