| Civilians | Hi, Rather long subject but you get the idea. A friend has about 100 slides to go through and talk about (using manual advance) and after they have finished he wants to set it up so that the same slide show is viewed but this time with the slides on automatic advance (with fade in/out). For myself as a very newbie PPT user, any help for this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Dave. |

| Civilians | Create a duplicate presentation, go to Slide Sorter view and select all slides. Choose Slide Show | transition, pick up the Fade transition, choose a time and click Apply to All. Link from the last slide of the first presentation. -- Geetesh Bajaj, Microsoft PowerPoint MVP http://www.indezine.com http://www.powerpointed.com The PowerPoint Blog at http://www.indezine.com/blog/ "David Boggitt" <david.boggitt@btinternet.com> wrote in message news:377i909nojerq88ul0gha8nfqer8t8c3t1@4ax.com... > Hi, > > Rather long subject but you get the idea. > > A friend has about 100 slides to go through and talk about (using > manual advance) and after they have finished he wants to set it up so > that the same slide show is viewed but this time with the slides on > automatic advance (with fade in/out). > > For myself as a very newbie PPT user, any help for this would be > greatly appreciated. > > Thanks, > > Dave. |

| Civilians | Suggestion: Create a duplicate or the presentation with a different name and set the transitions, etc. Also set it up as a Kiosk show. Then link the last slide of the original presentation to the new one. When the presenter reaches the last slide, he clicks on the link and can walk away. The second presentation will loop continuously until Escape is pressed. -- Sonia, MS PowerPoint MVP Team Autorun CD software, templates, and tutorials http://www.soniacoleman.com/ "David Boggitt" <david.boggitt@btinternet.com> wrote in message news:377i909nojerq88ul0gha8nfqer8t8c3t1@4ax.com... |

| Civilians | [CRITICAL UPDATE - Anyone using Office 2003 should install the critical update as soon as possible. From PowerPoint, choose "Help -> Check for Updates".] [TOP ISSUE - Are you having difficulty opening presentations in PPT 2003 that you just created in PPT 2003? - http://support.microsoft.com/?id=329820] Hello, 1) Create your automatic advancing presentation (using slide transition effects and timings). 2) Go into "Slide Show -> Set up Show" and select the option to Advance slides "Manually", then 3) Click "OK", and Save the presentation When you are done delivering your presentation, reverse the procedure: 4) Go into "Slide Show -> Set up Show" and select the option to Advance slides "Using timings, if present", then 5) Click "OK", and Save the presentation Now the presentation will use the slide timings that you specified earlier. If you (or anyone else reading this message) have suggestions for how to make this easier to do in PowerPoint, don't forget to send your feedback (in YOUR OWN WORDS, please) to Microsoft at: http://register.microsoft.com/mswish/suggestion.asp It's VERY important that, for EACH wish, you describe in detail, WHY it is important TO YOU that your product suggestion be implemented. A good wish submssion includes WHAT scenario, work-flow, or end-result is blocked by not having a specific feature, HOW MUCH time and effort ($$$) is spent working around a specific limitation of the current product, etc. Remember that Microsoft receives THOUSANDS of product suggestions every day and we read each one but, in any given product development cycle, there are ONLY sufficient resources to address the ones that are MOST IMPORTANT to our customers so take the extra time to state your case as CLEARLY and COMPLETELY as possible so that we can FEEL YOUR PAIN. IMPORTANT: Each submission should be a single suggestion (not a list of suggestions). | Civilians | Dave, Does your friend want to do this seamlessly? Create the manual advance slideshow When your friend has finished getting the slideshow to his/her liking... save it (call it manual-advance). Open it....save it under a new name (call it rolling-slideshow) Then set a link on the last slide of the manual show to call up rolling-slideshow See here for how to create seamless links http://www.powerpointbackgrounds.com...intlinking.htm Cheers TAJ Simmons microsoft powerpoint mvp awesome - powerpoint backgrounds, free powerpoint templates, tutorials, hints and tips etc http://www.powerpointbackgrounds.com > A friend has about 100 slides to go through and talk about (using > manual advance) and after they have finished he wants to set it up so > that the same slide show is viewed but this time with the slides on > automatic advance (with fade in/out). > > For myself as a very newbie PPT user, any help for this would be > greatly appreciated. > > Thanks, > > Dave. |
