Default .ppt opens as .pps

I have a .ppt file on my web. I can open the file from my web browser
(Netscape or IE) and it opens as a .ppt file. However, a few people
have reported that when they open the file in the web browser it opens
as a slide show (.pps). Does anyone know why this is happening and how
it can be fixed?

Thanks,

John

Do the others have PowerPoint installed or just the PowerPoint Viewer?
It sounds like the others are getting the presentation opened in the
viewer.

Dave,

Nope, they have the full program installed. I was able to find a few other
similar situations within the past few minutes in the postings above and it
looks like there's a Microsoft fix available on their site... having to do
with registry updating. I'll see if that will resolve the issue.
